What was happening
This patient arrived with pain at 10 out of 10. Everywhere. Function had collapsed — could not walk a straight line, could not stand for more than three minutes. That presentation tells us the nervous system has become reactive, amplifying signals that should not be at that intensity.
When the pain is everywhere, the workup at most clinics struggles to pinpoint a cause — because there often is not a single cause to pinpoint. It is the system itself that needs care.
What other providers missed
Widespread, severe pain that does not match a single tissue source is often misunderstood as overreporting, or labeled vaguely and left without a plan. What is missed is that the nervous system itself can be the source — central sensitization — and that this is a real, treatable, evidence-supported condition.

What we did differently
Our team did what this presentation requires. We listened. We assessed. We layered interventions that addressed both the tissue and the system. Stretching and manual work to restore mobility where it had been lost. Infrared light therapy to help quiet inflamed tissue and modulate pain signaling. Graded activity to retrain the system that pain had taken offline.
And we calibrated everything to what the body could absorb without flaring. A nervous system in this state needs every input to feel safe before it will accept more.
The outcome
This patient can now walk a straight line. They can stand longer than three minutes. The pain has come down from a 10. And they felt listened to.
